About the Author

Joan Bauer grew up in River Forrest, Illinois in the 1950's.  As a child she loved writing poems in her diary and reading  many books. When she was eigth her parents divorced and her loss of her alcoholic father devastated her. This explainede why every book that she's written so far has some complex father problems. In her twenties she worked in sales and advertising and met her future husband, Evan. With his support she decided to try out proffesional writing. She started to write articles for newspapers and magazines for little money. She got into a auto accident where her back and neck were severly injured. During that time she wrote Squashed. So far she has written nine novels and has one many awards.
